evPORT

evPORT is a turnkey, one-stop, online procurement portal providing ports across the country equal access to competitively bid electric vehicle and port equipment, charging infrastructure, related services, innovative financing options, and best practices and resources on electrification.

Medium- and heavy-duty (MHD) vehicles contribute disproportionately to overall oil consumption in the transportation sector as well as local air pollution, making up 32% of nitrogen oxide (NOX) emissions and 23% of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Electrification of port vehicles and equipment is a significant opportunity to improve our national and economic security by reducing our dependency on oil while also reducing port-related emissions both on and off terminal by reducing diesel consumption, improving air quality for ports and port communities.

Seaports, inland river ports, and intermodal hubs face evolving challenges in electrifying equipment. This includes navigating vehicle and equipment options that meet performance standards, incorporating charging and shore power infrastructure, and identifying the best pathways for procurement. Through the evPORT platform, port end users can identify procurement options for various equipment needs, streamlining the process for deployment, and reducing soft costs of port electrification projects.
